It’s rare that kitchen design is influenced by external factors and features – more often than not it’s a space that adds different levels to the home’s internal functionality. The brief for this kitchen demanded consideration of both. By maximising a stunning elevated aspect across a gorgeous Fermanagh lough, while also serving as a stunning cooking, dining and entertaining space. The design language is clean without being clinical – elegant runs of straight edges and the perfect balance of natural materials complementing and punctuating functionality. Hidden doors maintain the aesthetic purity of vertical wooden panelling, while a cantilevered breakfast bar maximises floor space flexibility. Each element of the design is subtle and understated, leaving the view beyond the large panoramic wall of glass to draw attention and capture imaginations.
